Acne is initiated by the hair follicle being blocked which then ruptures causing the oil the skin naturally produces and the dead skin cells to leak into the pores. The oil and the dead skin cells to blocks the pores and causes swelling and inflammation that manifests inform of bumps which can be either blackheads, white heads, pimples or cysts. The bumps are normally found in the face around the nose, chin and forehead area. But sometimes can spread to neck chest and upper back too. The most common conditions that cause or aggravate this problem are environment, bacteria, medicine, makeup, hormones, diet, and stress. It is a common skin problem mostly associated with teens which usually clear up as they grow older. What happens when they become painful and unmanageable with the common home-made treatments then it is time to consider other forms of acne treatment process.

To manage this skin problem, the key is to keep the skin healthy and the pores clear especially people with oily skin who are susceptible to this problem. You will need to observe hygiene at all times by washing the affected area with a mild soap and lukewarm water twice a day. Avoid hot water as it stimulates excess oil production by the skin which will worsen the condition. Always dry your skin properly before applying any skin product. Scrub you face with a mild facial scrub to remove the dead skin and avoid a build-up which might block your pore which aggravates pimples.

Your diet should be balanced with lots of vegetables and fruits to keep the clean healthy. Vitamin B5 is very helpful but limit the amount of sugars, carbohydrates, fats and oil in your diet as they worsen acne. Water is also good for your skin as it helps hydrate your skin and remove toxins from you skin which also contribute to break outs in the skin.

The skin care products that you use should be light, fragrance-free, non-irritating and oil-free to avoid blocking the pores. Make sure the products you use are written ‘noncomedogenic’ or ‘nonacnegenic ’this basically means that the ingredients won’t block you pores. To clear up acne and prevent more from forming buy lotions and creams that contain either salicylic acids or benzoyl peroxide which have been found to be effective. Just make sure to try them on the back of your hand for a few days just to confirm that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients in the skin care products. Avoid putting on makeup if you have oily skin but if you must always remove it all before you go to sleep as it might block your pores.

There some people who skin break out are so severe that they do not respond to the above tips. This then means you will have to see a dermatologist for other stronger acne treatments. Depending on the severity of your acne the Doctor will prescribe different products as they deem fit. For pimples created by bacteria the doctor will prescribe antibiotics to kill the bacteria. If it persists they will

For very severe acne which have persisted even after using antibiotics and other drugs they might consider acne laser treatment which is an expensive surgical procedure that needs several procedures before you see results. Although acne is a serious skin problem that affects almost everyone at some point in their lives, one should be careful when using any of these treatments for acne relief. Always consult a dermatologist first. Just because a product worked for someone doesn’t mean it will work for you.
